Recently, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks have become part of our daily vocabulary and attire. In different contexts masks are also worn to celebrate and to threaten. They are a part of rituals and ceremonies that have been used for centuries by many people around the world. This exhibition is inspired by mask cultures from around the world and has made use of a range of raw materials and techniques to represent the diversity of mask making. Each mask has been designed, made and hand-finished by Laurence and Chris of Kingsroad Studios.
On the 30th of September, the creative duo will facilitate an interactive mask-making workshop at the Linen Hall Library. To find out more about the workshop, click here.
